A compassionate introduction to supporting people nearing the end of life in adult social care. This course explores recognising when someone may be approaching end of life, maintaining dignity and comfort, communicating sensitively with individuals and families, advance care planning, and working alongside professionals to provide compassionate, person-centred care.
When you’ve completed this 25 minute module you will be able to:
- Explain what end of life care is, recognise when someone may be approaching end of life, and understand the principles of good end of life care
- Support people to maintain dignity, comfort and quality of life at end of life, and communicate sensitively with people and their families
- Understand your role in the multidisciplinary team and know where to access support for yourself and others
