Develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to deliver high-quality, person-centred care that supports positive outcomes and promotes wellbeing.
This in-depth online course is designed for people working in adult social care. It explores what great person-centred care looks like in practice, putting the experience of people receiving care and support at the heart of the learning.
The course combines three eLearning modules covering principles of person-centred care, care planning and record keeping, alongside real-life examples, reflective activities and practical resources to help learners apply their knowledge in everyday practice.
Throughout the course, you'll explore:
· the principles and values of person-centred care, including dignity, respect, choice and independence
· person-centred care planning and supporting people to achieve their goals
· accurate, professional and confidential record keeping
· strengths-based approaches and community-based working
· the Mental Capacity Act 2005, including consent, capacity and best-interest decisions
· professional standards, codes of practice and regulation
· trauma-informed practice and understanding the impact of life experiences on care and support
· relational care and the importance of building positive, supportive relationships
· how to apply person-centred approaches to deliver safe, effective and high-quality care.
Learning reflects current adult social care practice and helps organisations demonstrate compliance with CQC expectations, including Regulation 9: Person-centred Care and Regulation 13: Safeguarding Service Users from Abuse and Improper Treatment.
